EPC QR codes in Switzerland
This tool creates an EPC QR code for euro transfers. It does not create the payment part of a Swiss QR bill and does not support Swiss QR-IBAN requirements.
Create a QR code for a SEPA transfer
An EPC QR code packages payment details in a format that compatible banking apps can scan. Instead of typing the beneficiary, IBAN, amount and remittance information manually, the payer scans the code and reviews the populated transfer form.
The iban24 generator follows the EPC069-12 format for SEPA credit transfers in euros. It is suitable for invoices, payment requests, donations and other situations where bank transfer details need to be shared clearly.
How to generate the code
- Enter the beneficiary name and IBAN.
- Optionally add the BIC and an amount in euros.
- Add either a structured creditor reference or free-form remittance text.
- Optionally include a purpose code, message or logo.
- Select Generate QR code, check the preview and download the PNG.
Only the beneficiary name and IBAN are required. Leaving the amount empty lets the payer enter it after scanning. A creditor reference and free-form remittance text cannot be used together because the EPC format permits only one of them.
Compatibility and limitations
Banking-app support varies. Test the downloaded code with the intended app and verify every imported field before approving a payment. The generator creates an EPC code for euro transfers; it does not initiate a payment and does not confirm the beneficiary or account status.
The QR payload is not encrypted. Anyone who can scan the image can read the included payment details, so do not add information that should remain confidential.
Using a logo
PNG, JPEG and WebP logos can be placed in the centre of the code. Keep the design simple and always test the result, because large or complex logos can make QR codes harder to scan. The generated result link expires after a few minutes.
Privacy
Payment details are used to generate the code and are not stored permanently. If a logo is uploaded, the generated image is cached only for the short lifetime of the signed result link.
